Maeve went missing on the afternoon of Saturday, May 30, while in the care of a family friend who was watching her. This was not her primary residence, so she was in an unfamiliar area when she got loose. A dog in unfamiliar surroundings is harder to predict and may travel farther than expected.
She is described as friendly but timid. Maeve was mistreated before finding her family and can be skittish around new people. She may approach a calm, quiet person, but she is just as likely to spook and run, which is why it is so important that no one chases or corners her.
If you spot Maeve, the best thing you can do is stay back, avoid eye contact and sudden movement, note exactly where she is and which direction she is heading, and report it right away. Please do not try to catch her yourself.
