About This Case
Max went missing the night of Friday, May 29, 2026, from a mixed residential and wooded area near the 100 block of Fred Smith Road in New Matamoras. He is a friendly 2-year-old beagle who will often walk up to people, though he tends to bark first.
Beagles follow their nose and can cover far more ground than people expect, and Max proved it. He turned up roughly 24 miles from home. A few quiet days with no sighting never meant the worst, and this recovery is a reminder of why we stay hopeful and keep the word out there.

Going on four days since Max went missing. No new sightings and no new information to report. The search has been extended along the routes leading toward town and into the surrounding rural roads. Owners and volunteers are continuing to canvass the area and to ask residents to check their outbuildings and review camera footage. Please keep sharing Max's case. The more people watching, the better the chances of a confirmed sighting.

Going on three days with no confirmed sightings. Neighbors throughout the New Matamoras area have been asked to physically check sheds, garages, barns, and outbuildings, and to review any doorbell or trail camera footage from the past several days. Owners are continuing to search on foot and by vehicle, and the case is being actively shared on social media.
