Hudson Missing From Belpre OH
Hudson Missing From Belpre OH
Hudson, affectionately known as Huddy Bear, is a 9-year-old neutered male Shih Tzu and a beloved member of his family. He is a sweet dog who is shy around new people and very skittish around loud noises. When startled, his instinct is to hide.
Hudson went missing in the aftermath of a gas explosion that destroyed the family home on the 700 block of 5th Street in Belpre on Saturday afternoon. The blast shook the foundation, leveled the structure, and shattered windows for blocks. Somehow, in the middle of that devastation, Hudson found a way out. A woman who went to the front of the property to help the animals reported seeing one of the dogs jump from a downstairs window. The family's other dog was rescued from the back porch by a police officer and reunited safely.
Witnesses watched Hudson run left toward Lee Street, and multiple people reported sightings of him along Lee Street heading in the direction of the river. A neighbor saw him cut between the buildings, back to front, and it is believed he then crossed into the field across the road heading toward 6th Street. Given the circumstances of his escape and his fear of loud noises, Hudson is almost certainly frightened, disoriented, and looking for a quiet place to hide.
Important note for anyone reporting a sighting. Hudson is a small, long-haired Shih Tzu, and several witnesses have described him as "she." Please do not dismiss a sighting of a small grey, brown, and white fluffy dog in this area because of gender. If it looks like Hudson, please report it.
