Lost dog nova

Tuesday September 30 — Nova has now been missing for 70 days

It has been more than two months since Nova slipped away from Silver Globe Road in Marietta just minutes after arriving at her foster home. Nova is a one year old Plott Hound Shepherd mix, about 26 pounds, brindle in color with white toes and a white patch on her chest. She was last seen wearing a pink collar and a mint green harness. She is timid, was never imprinted to a home, and does not know her name.

Possible sightings have been reported over the past couple of weeks in the Barlow and SR 339 areas, including descriptions of a brindle dog wearing a harness and collar. While these have not yet been confirmed by photo or video, they remain our best leads.

Nova’s case is unusual. She escaped before she had the chance to bond with a safe home and is surviving completely on her instincts. From experience, we know these cases can go dark for long periods and then turn around on a single sighting. That is why every set of eyes in the area matters.

We are asking the community to remain vigilant. Please check cameras, review footage, and keep watch if you are driving in the area. If you see a brindle dog that could be Nova, do not call or chase her. Take a photo or video if you can and report it right away.
