Nova is extremely skittish and fearful. She was never imprinted to a home and does not respond to her name. She is surviving entirely on instinct. Do NOT call out to her, approach her, or attempt to lure her in a way that could cause her to flee. Observe from a distance, take a photo or video if possible, and report immediately.
Nova slipped away from Silver Globe Road in Marietta, Ohio on July 22, 2025, just minutes after arriving at her foster home. She had not yet had the chance to bond with a safe environment and immediately defaulted to survival mode in the wild.
Nova is a brindle Plott Hound and Shepherd mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. She has white toes and a white patch on her chest. At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a pink collar and a mint green harness. She is deeply fearful and does not know her name, which makes traditional recovery methods ineffective for her case.

The most recent unconfirmed sightings placed a brindle dog matching Nova's description in the Barlow and SR 339 corridor areas. These sightings included descriptions of a dog wearing a harness and collar. While none have been confirmed by photo or video, they remain the best leads on record.
