Case Summary

Honey, a 6-year-old spayed female, went missing early Tuesday morning from 906 Meadow Heights, Paden City, WV. She is a medium-sized black dog with a white patch under her chin. She was not wearing a collar and is not microchipped.

She was spooked by loud construction work and ran out the front door into the wooded area behind her home. Honey is extremely shy and skittish, and has a history of hiding under porches, decks, and other tight spaces when scared.

There has been one unconfirmed sighting along Route 2 between Paden City and New Martinsville. No confirmed sightings have occurred since.

Search Efforts to Date

  • Aerial Search Conducted:
MOV Drone Workz completed a drone flight the morning of July 10 while overcast conditions allowed. The mission covered wooded areas behind Meadow Heights and extended along Route 2. The dense tree canopy limited deep visibility, but several zones were ruled out.

  • Ground Operations Initiated:
The owner is distributing flyers and will begin working with volunteers on foot. PSA is also preparing for tracking and trapping once a reliable pattern or location is identified.

What You Can Do

If you live in or near Paden City or Route 2 toward New Martinsville:

  • Check your sheds, crawlspaces, barns, and porches.

  • Review trail camera and Ring doorbell footage from the past few days.
