Time Missing: 14 Days
CASE SUMMARY
Forrest, a 2-year-old brown male dog, has been safely recovered after being missing for 14 days in the downtown Marietta area. He was last seen near the Washington Street Bridge between Second and Third Streets before eventually being successfully trapped by Pet Search Alliance on October 12, 2025.
Forrest had escaped from a foster-to-adopt placement just hours after arrival, before bonding to the new home. Due to unfamiliar surroundings and fear, he entered full flight mode and avoided all human contact, food, and calls during the search period.
Through patient field strategy, coordinated monitoring, and the use of remote trail cameras and bait stations, PSA volunteers were able to identify Forrest’s movement pattern and safely capture him without injury.
