Bring the Missy Trap to Lila

Lila, a black and brown Australian Shepherd missing at The Highlands in Triadelphia, West Virginia Lila, a black and brown Australian Shepherd loose since August 21, 2026 in Triadelphia, West Virginia
Raised So Far
Goal $600
$0

Lila bolted from a car on the day she was adopted. The family had stopped near The Highlands in Triadelphia, and when the door opened she ran. She has been loose ever since.

She came out of a situation with eight dogs and almost no human contact, so she was never socialized. She is not a dog who got scared and will settle down. She is a dog who has never trusted a person in her life, and now she is surviving in a busy commercial area next to a highway.

She has been caught twice already and got loose both times. She will come to food, but she will not let anyone within reach. Volunteers on the ground have done everything right, and they have run out of equipment that can do the job.

That is where we come in.

Pet Search Alliance Mid-Ohio Valley is a 501(c)(3) that specializes in exactly this kind of dog. We build a large humane trap system we call the Missy Trap. It is remotely triggered and monitored by a cellular trail camera, which means we can watch her on a phone and drop the door only when she is fully inside and settled. It does not ask her to trust anyone. That is the whole reason it works on dogs like Lila.

We are based in Reno, Ohio, more than one hundred miles south of The Highlands. That is well outside our normal service area, and we are willing to make the trip anyway because this dog has a real chance and there is a good team on the ground up there ready to work with us.

What It Takes to Get the Trap to Her
Vehicle and fuel, 408 miles across two round trips$310
Field volunteer time, delivery and retrieval$200
Equipment contingency$90
Total$600

That is two round trips, not one. Once to bring the trap up, site it, and train the local volunteers on it. Once more after Lila is safe, to pack it up and bring it home so it is available for the next dog.

Pet Search Alliance is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 39-3114050. Your donation is tax deductible and every dollar given here is tracked to this deployment only. Anything raised beyond the goal stays with Lila's case and covers bait, camera data, and any additional trips this case needs.
